THE DEPARTURE POINTS & ARRIVAL LOCATIONS The boat departs from Puerto Lindo Panama. The meeting point is the restaurant at Casa X hostel at 5pm on the trip date. To get there guests must pay for ground transportation.  The least expensive is the public bus from Albrook Bus Terminal in Panama City to the Colon Terminal then from there the bus to Puerto Lindo.  Guest choosing this option should arrive at Albrook at 8am because the last connection to Puerto Lindo from Colon is usually at 10am. If enough guests are interested the boat will organize a  shuttle for $25 per guest. Contact us if you want this option, we will put you on the waitlist and book you if the shuttle is offered. The boat arrives at Club Nautica marina in Cartagena.  From there guests can easily take a taxi to main areas. ABOUT THE BOAT The boat is a Beneteau and its size is 50 ft.  There is 12 guest spots total available (2 x triple cabins with bahtroom, 2 x double cabins and 1 x dorm with 2 beds), There is a bathroom with a shower in very good conditions.   ABOUT THE CREW   Captain Fabian Arcila is from Colombia and has been running the Koala II safely since 2 years between Colombia and Panama. He speaks English, Spanish and Italian. He learned his Italian in Rome, Itlay where he lived for 10 years and worked as a chef which makes sure excellent food is provided on the trip. Edwin Otero is the marinero on board the Koala II since 7 years. SOPHIA SAILBOAT PANAMA TO COLOMBIA   ABOUT THE BOAT Sophia VI is a Vagabund 51 Ketch sailing boat, and is equipped with a 120 HP turbo diesel engine. The boat was built in 1985, refitted in 2014 with new rigging and got a new  engine in 2017. It has GPS,life rafts and life jackets. There are 2 guest cabins plus bunks in the main area. There is one four person cabin with double bed and two single bunks. A two person cabin with a large bed.  In the main cabin there are 3 single bunks and one double bed. The boat have 2 toilets and a large outside  living area. There is also a kayak, snorkel gear and  fishing supplies on board.   CAPTAIN & CREW Andre is a graduate of the Colombian naval cadet academy in Cartagena de Indias and he holds a professional captains license. He speaks fluent English and Spanish, and is an outgoing and laid back character. In 2009 he spent time sailing in the Pacific ocean before returning to the Caribbean. He was employed for several years as a professional  captain on various sailboats and catamarans, making over 100 crossing during that time sailing between Panama to Cartagena. He will offer to stop at a supermarket along the way to give you an opportunity to purchase last minute items such as sunscreen, toiletries, snacks or alcohol. The $25 shuttle fee needs to be paid to Hernan in cash. The day before the trip we will add you to a Whatsapp group with our team, the driver and other shuttle passengers. This gives us an easy way to send out pick up times, communicate delays and answer questions others might like to know as well. Day 1 - Departing from Puerto Lindo the navigation to San Blas Islands takes around 8 hours. Our first stop is usually in chichime island, where we spend the rest of the day and night. Day 2 - There is a great place to snorkel on an old shipwreck, close to Dog Island. We spend the night anchored in an area called lemons cays. we will spend around 2 hours sailing on the calm San blas waters during the day. Day 3 - in the Holandes cays we are going to be visiting 2 beautiful different beaches and reefs, at night we depart to cartagena. Day4 - Full day sailing in open sea. Getting close to cartagena coast. Day 5 - Arrive in Cartagena with a delicious breakfast. we will try to stamp the passports with cartagena entrance before afternoon. The captain meets the guests at the floating restaurant inside Linton Bay Marina at 5pm the day of the trip.   Guests must arrive no later than this, although the exact boat departure time may vary due to weather and wind conditions. To get there guests must pay for ground transportation.  The least expensive is the public bus from Albrook Bus Terminal in Panama City to the Colon Terminal then from there the bus to Puerto Lindo.  Guest choosing this option should arrive at Albrook at 8am because the last connection to Puerto Lindo from Colon is usually at 10am. If enough guests are interested the boat will organize a  shuttle for $25 per guest. Contact us if you want this option, we will put you on the waitlist and book you if the shuttle is offered. The boat arrives at Club Nautica marina in Cartagena.  From there guests can easily take a taxi to main areas of Cartagena. The Santana is the ideal trip if you are looking for a spacious Catamaran. Unlike others this boat is not over crowded. Captain Gisi is an experienced Captain that has been in San Blas for many years and makes you feel safe and comfortable on board. SANTANA is a 50 foot aluminum catamaran built in 1996 and she got completely refurbished in September 2015. SANTANA offers a huge deck space and may easily take up 16 passengers plus crew. The arrival time is usually sometime in the mid to late morning but this depends on weather conditions.   Shuttle Details: There is a minimum of 2 guests required for this shuttle to operate. The shuttle costs $25 per guest and will pick you up between 12:30 and 1pm on the date of your trip. Your driver is Hernan, a very experienced an friendly driver. He will offer to stop at a supermarket along the way to give you an opportunity to purchase last minute items such as sunscreen, toiletries, snacks or alcohol. The $25 shuttle fee needs to be paid to Hernan in cash. The day before the trip we will add you to a Whatsapp group with our team, the driver and other shuttle passengers. This gives us an easy way to send out pick up times, communicate delays and answer questions others might like to know as well. It has 2 private double cabins, two private triples, and 2 singles and a triple and a double in the salon, 3 bathrooms, a big kitchen with fridge and freezer, generator, sound system and DVD player, two and a freezer, snorkel gear, and fishing gear, kayak and dinghy. The hangout area is big, especially outside there is a lot of space to relax and enjoy the sun. Fresh water shower outside There is no air-con but in case you feel too hot in your cabin we have some mattresses, pillows and sleeping bags for the ones who prefers to sleep outside under the beautiful stars.The boat is equipped with kayak, paddle board, snorkeling gear, fishing equipment, dice, cards and other games.   CAPTAIN & CREW The crew always consists of Captain, first mate and cook. BOAT TO COLOMBIA - Sovereign Grace

ABOUT THE BOAT Sovereign Grace is the second boat in the fleet. She is even bigger at 74ft and 60 tonnes. She joined Wild Card in 2014 due to huge demand for another quality trip, and has been a great success. The forward deck area is huge, allowing everyone to relax while at anchor or when sailing. 21 berths are available in shared cabins, private twins/doubles and the saloon area Three toilets with electric flush toilets. Below deck dry stowage for all baggage. 8 person dinghy for transportation to shore. Shore activities include bbq , volleyball and snorkeling. Pirate costumes available. CAPTAIN Sovereign Grace’s captain is James (Chappy). He is another popular skipper with plenty of experience in San Blas and elsewhere. James is originally from California, boating his whole life on sail and motor yachts. Five years ago James said goodbye to the corporate life and set sail from his home in Boston to the San Blas islands, where he has been running charter boats and exploring the islands ever since.The boat always has plenty of crew on board to look after guests and keep a smooth running operation. (Occasionally other experienced contracted captains are used when James is on vacations) ABOUT THE TRIP Day 1 – A member of crew will meet you in Puerto Lindo on the morning of departure. Most people arrive by specially arranged group transport (25USD per person) which will take you directly to the meeting point. Passengers arriving independently will be given instructions where and when to meet. After a trip briefing the captain will collect passports. Everyone will board the boat early afternoon before setting off at around 2pm. The boat should arrive in San Blas during the evening and anchor overnight. Day 2 – This will be the first full day in San Blas. Remember, because you departed from Puerto Lindo the day before you will already be in the islands when you wake. Many other trips start their first day in the islands which means passengers don't get on board until around 10am after arriving from Panama City. Day 3 – Another full day in San Blas. This time you will head further east towards the outer more secluded islands. Day 4 – The final day in San Blas before heading towards Cartagena. Coco Bandero is a favourite place to stop on this final day to relax before setting off in the afternoon, beyond the islands. Day 5 – All day and night at sea. Day 6 – You should arrive to Cartagena in the morning or early afternoon. After the immigration formalities have been completed by the captain’s agent you will be taken ashore near Club Natico Marina, a short taxi to the main hostel area. Your captain will call our maritime agent on arrival in Cartagena. He deals with all boat arrival paperwork and immigration. You will likely stay on the boat after arrival whilst the captain meets the agent, who will return later with passports stamped. Onward travel tickets will not be required. ABOUT THE FOOD Breakfast is around 7:30 am and includes coffee/tea, fruit, cereal and bread. At around 10 or 11 am a second cooked breakfast is served. Examples are Chorizo, omelettes, pancakes etc. Lunch is between 1 and 2 pm. Dinner is around 7pm. All meals are substantial with fresh vegetables.  Seafood is regularly caught and purchased from the locals. Lobster will be served if in season. The boat has ample refrigeration for drink storage. Ice is provided for the coolers on deck for guest use. Neither boat provides alcohol , mixers or snacks such as chips. Alcohol can be purchased in the islands but it is generally the norm to purchase everything prior to the trip. Fruit is also served in the afternoon. Bread , nutella, jam and peanut butter are generally available all day. Everyone will board the boat early afternoon before setting off at around 2pm. The boat should arrive in San Blas during the evening and anchor overnight. Day 2 – This will be the first full day in San Blas. Remember, because you departed from Puerto Lindo the day before you will already be in the islands when you wake. Many other trips start their first day in the islands which means passengers don't get on board until around 10am after arriving from Panama City. Day 3 – Another full day in San Blas. This time you will head further east towards the outer more secluded islands. Day 4 – The final day in San Blas before heading towards Cartagena. Coco Bandero is a favourite place to stop on this final day to relax before setting off in the afternoon, beyond the islands Day 5 – All day and night at sea Day 6 – You should arrive to Cartagena in the morning or early afternoon. After the immigration formalities have been completed by the captain’s agent you will be taken ashore near Club Natico Marina, a short taxi to the main hostel area. The construction is made of solid fiberglass which makes this boat a very solid and safe boat. Her layout is most famous among the charter companies for the great space available. Starting with being brought up living on a lake in the northeastern USA Vermont state lake Champlain. Here, he started sailing a sunfish at the early age of 7. Since then, he has sailed some 100.000 thousand miles in his entire career. He has recently sailed to Tahiti and back in 2016. Currently, he is sailing with his 20 years old son Michael which has spent many miles alongside his dad learning the captain duties. Because of his good learning reference, his dad, he is a very competent sailor as well. They both owned and operated a hotel restaurant business for many years which makes them great cooks which specializes in seafood dinners. All amounts may change due to providers’ policy and money exchange rates. To get to Cartagena it takes one day, leaving in the morning and arriving in the evening. The journey consists of one boat ride and two bus/van rides. After the trip ends in Sapzurro, you will need to take a local motor boat to Capurgana and spend at least one night in Capurgana in order to catch the morning boat to Necocli. Sapzurro to Capurganá - local motor boat (12.000 COP per person). In Capurgana you need to stamp into Colombia at the immigration office. This is free and easy, no need for onward ticket. You will only need 1 copy of your passport and your yellow fever card. We recommend getting the yellow fever vaccine before getting to Panama Republic. Canadian nationals need to pay a 160.000 pesos entrance fee to Colombia.   Capurgana to Necocli - Around 1.5 hours. Leaves once a day at 11:00 a.m. Cost is 70,000 COP. You must book your ticket for the boat to Necocli and have your Colombia immigration stamp the day before you leave. In preparation for Necocli ferry make sure all your bags are protected by bin liners (plastic bags). These can be bought at the shop by the dock. Have sun block ready. Hint, the most comfortable place to sit is at the back of the boat. CATAMARAN JONATHAN PANAMA TO COLOMBIA   ABOUT THE BOAT JONATHAN is the ideal trip for guests who are looking for a relaxed, well equipped, comfortable and spacious Catamaran with a big net area between the hulls. Big Boat (54 ft) just 10 Guests – you will never feel cramped on this boat. Good equipment (Kayak, SUP,…) professional crew,  since 5 years in Guna Yala, experience in several social projects in Guna Yala and well known at several communities in Guna Yala. We will have an open fire on one of the islands. JONATHAN (marketing name since 25 Years, the register name at AMP in Panamá is SELINA 2). 2008, 54 Feet. Customs built Catamaran, epoxy and fiberglass made in Brazil, registered in Panama. Amenities Water Maker (unlimited water on board), Kayak, Stand up Paddleboard (SUP), Electric Toilets, Snorkel Gear, we sail maximum with just 10 guests and 2 Crew – 5 Double cabins, 2 bed in the Salon.   ABOUT THE CREW Captain: Powerboat license of MSVÖ, Yacht Master License of ÖSV, Commercial Captain for inshore Bunks AMP Background Studies of Airplane Technique at BMS f FLT in Austria, MBA, Experience: Sailing since 26 Years in the Charter Industry in the Mediterranean, British Virgin Islands, Antigua, Cuba, Lesser Antilles, Latin and Central America, several Atlantic Crossings on different Sailing Yachts Languages spoken: Captain: English, Spanish, Deutsch CREW: English, Creole. Captain is involved in several social projects in Guna Yala such as Glasses for the albino children -  we bring specialists on our behalf to measure the eyes of guna indigenes, we let produce the glasses and bring them to the people – for free. So we are in several communities very welcomed.   ABOUT THE TRIP 6 days  / 5 nights. About 8 hours from Puerto Lindo to the San Blas islands. Approximately 3 days within The San Bas Islands. Followed by an ocean crossing that averages 35 – 40 to Cartagena, but can be affected by wind, sea and currents. Visiting different islands daily for nice beaches and snorkeling. Visiting a few Guna families   WHAT'S INCLUDED Accommodation onboard the sailboat. 3 meals per day. Water & coffee. Use of fishing gear. Snorkel equipment for all guests. Immigration assistance.   COST & PAYMENT BREAKDOWN Total Cost = $550 $50 deposit payment made to Cacique Cruiser to reserve your spot. $500 per guest for the boat trip paid to the captain. This price does not include the $20 Guna territory entrance fee, which must be paid to the captain in cash when requested. This price does not include transport from Panama City to the boats departure point. Canadian passport holders are charged an additional visa fee by Colombia of 190,000 Colombian pesos. Check today's exchange rate online.   THE DEPARTURE POINTS & ARRIVAL LOCATIONS The boat departs from Puerto Lindo Panama. Guests must meet at restaurant at Casa X hostel at 4pm on the trip date for a pre trip meeting. To get there guests must pay for ground transportation.  There are 2 options: The public bus. This will cost about $12 total, but you must depart Panama City's Albrook bus terminal to Colon by 8 am in order to make what is normally the last connection direct to Puerto Lindo at 10am. Schedule a seat in in a shuttle for $25, see shuttle details below. The boat arrives at Club Nautica marina in Cartagena.  From there guests can easily take a taxi to main areas.   Shuttle Details: There is a minimum of 2 guests required for this shuttle to operate. The shuttle costs $25 per guest and will pick you up between 12:30 and 1pm on the date of your trip. Your driver is Hernan, a very experienced an friendly driver. He will offer to stop at a supermarket along the way to give you an opportunity to purchase last minute items such as sunscreen, toiletries, snacks or alcohol. The $25 shuttle fee needs to be paid to Hernan in cash. The day before the trip we will add you to a Whatsapp group with our team, the driver and other shuttle passengers. This gives us an easy way to send out pick up times, communicate delays and answer questions others might like to know as well. To sign up for the shuttle all we need from you is a confirmation reply that also includes your pick up location in Panama City. The other option for transportation is the public bus. This will cost about $12 total, but you must depart Panama Citys Albrook bus terminal to Colon by 8 am in order to make what is normally the last connection direct to Puerto Lindo at 10am. Surfboards and kitesurf gear cost $5 additional for the shuttle, please let us know in advance if you are bringing these so our driver can plan to fit these along with the passengers and baggage.   HOW TO RESERVE A SPOT Please check availability with us before booking by clicking the INQUIRY button. To make a reservation click BOOK NOW and make a deposit payment of $50 online. The balance must be paid in cash to the captain when you get on the boat. Once a reservation is made we will send a receipt with a ticket and must read info via email. If the available dates or boats do not work for you, consider going round-trip to the San Blas islands from Panama City then flying to Colombia. Often reasonable flight prices can be found on Viva Colombia or Wingo.  And we offer many round-trip options to the islands from Panama City.   BE PREPARED WITH THE FOLLOWING Separate your luggage into two bags. One small ‘day pack’ for what you will need for the time on the boat and your main bag/backpack which will be stowed away. It is also advisable to protect luggage with large plastic trash bags. Snacks and beverages you want for the trip.  We recommend shopping in Panama City as there are no big shops near the boats departure point. 2 copies of your passport. Cash to pay the ground transport, entrance fees  the balance due on the sailboat trip, and any spending money you want for the trip. Sunscreen. Tight fitting T-shirt to snorkel. Mosquito repellent  for nights without wind and evenings ashore. Sweat shirt or a light raincoat for the night. Towel.
