  • Sovereign Grace is the second boat in the fleet. She is even bigger at 74ft and 60 tonnes. She joined Wild Card in 2014 due to huge demand for another quality trip, and has been a great success.
  • The forward deck area is huge, allowing everyone to relax while at anchor or when sailing. 21 berths are available in shared cabins, private twins/doubles and the saloon area
  • Three toilets with electric flush toilets.
  • Below deck dry stowage for all baggage.
  • 8 person dinghy for transportation to shore.
  • Shore activities include bbq , volleyball and snorkeling. Pirate costumes available.

  • Sovereign Grace’s captain is James (Chappy). He is another popular skipper with plenty of experience in San Blas and elsewhere. James is originally from California, boating his whole life on sail and motor yachts. Five years ago James said goodbye to the corporate life and set sail from his home in Boston to the San Blas islands, where he has been running charter boats and exploring the islands ever since. The boat always has plenty of crew on board to look after guests and keep a smooth running operation.

(Occasionally other experienced contracted captains are used when James is on vacations)

  • Day 1 – A member of crew will meet you in Puerto Lindo on the morning of departure. Most people arrive by specially arranged group transport (25USD per person) which will take you directly to the meeting point. Passengers arriving independently will be given instructions where and when to meet.
  • After a trip briefing the captain will collect passports. Everyone will board the boat early afternoon before setting off at around 2pm. The boat should arrive in San Blas during the evening and anchor overnight.
  • Day 2 – This will be the first full day in San Blas. Remember, because you departed from Puerto Lindo the day before you will already be in the islands when you wake. Many other trips start their first day in the islands which means passengers don't get on board until around 10am after arriving from Panama City.
  • Day 3 – Another full day in San Blas. This time you will head further east towards the outer more secluded islands.
  • Day 4 – The final day in San Blas before heading towards Cartagena. Coco Bandero is a favourite place to stop on this final day to relax before setting off in the afternoon, beyond the islands.
  • Day 5 – All day and night at sea.
  • Day 6 – You should arrive to Cartagena in the morning or early afternoon. After the immigration formalities have been completed by the captain’s agent you will be taken ashore near Club Natico Marina, a short taxi to the main hostel area. Your captain will call our maritime agent on arrival in Cartagena. He deals with all boat arrival paperwork and immigration. You will likely stay on the boat after arrival whilst the captain meets the agent, who will return later with passports stamped. Onward travel tickets will not be required.

Sovereign Grace is an independent boat which we represent as a guest service agent, because they are busy sailing and taking care of guests. Since we do not own and operate the boats we do  not control the schedule, and cannot be held responsible for delays cancellations by the boat, or actions of the crews aboard the boats. However, in the event of a delay or cancellation we will provide guests with other available options, or refund their deposit payment.  And if a guest registers a fair complaint or suggestion with us we will communicate with the boat and advocate for the guest in an effort to reach an amicable resolution.
