BOAT TO PANAMA- Sophia Sailboat

    ABOUT THE BOAT A Vigabund 51 ft Ketch sailing boat, and is equipped with a 120 HP turbo diesel engine. The boat was built in 1985 and refitted in 2014 with new rigging and had a new  engine in 2017. Up to 11 guests sleep on the boat and it also has a large outdoor living area. There is a 4 person cabin in front with a double bed and two single bunks. In the main cabin there are 3 single bunks and one double bed.  In the aft cabin there is one large king size double bed. There are 2 toilets on the boat that are shared with everyone.  GPS, life rafts and life jackets on board.   CAPTAIN & CREW Andre is the new owner and captain of the boat Sophia VI.     ABOUT THE TRIP 5 days  /  4 nights Minimum 2.5 days in San Blas , 2 days for the crossing to/from Cartagena Visiting different islands daily for nice beaches and snorkeling 3 daily meals Drinking water, coffee, tea Snorkel equipment There is also a kayak, snorkel gear and  fishing supplies on board.   THE DEPARTURE POINT & ARRIVAL LOCATION Colombia to Panama: The boat departs from the public marina in Cartagena. Guests can easily reach this point by taxi. The boat arrives at an anchorage in the San Blas islands. To get to Panama City guests must pay for the boat and ground transportation to the port and Panama City. (see COSTS)   COSTS $550 per guest for the 1 way boat trip from its starting point at an anchorage in the San Blas islands,Panama to Cartagena, Colombia. $50 of this must be paid as a deposit to reserve the trip. $22 Guna territory entrance fee. $30 ground transport to or from the port of Cart, San Blas. $$20 (approximately) local motor boat to or from the sailboat anchorage.   HOW TO RESERVE A SPOT Please check availability with us before booking by clicking the INQUIRY button. BOAT TO PANAMA - Amande sailboat

The Amande boat and crew are well known to offer professional service and excellent food. The Amande I and Amande II are two identical boats that go alternate from Panama to Colombia. Even though there is 2 of them, known for their constant trip quality, they are very often booked out ahead. ABOUT THE BOAT Amande 1 and 2 are both 50 foot (15 meter) Dufour 50 atoll 6 model.  They feature: 6 double cabins with large storage spaces, 4 bathrooms in perfect conditions. 115 m2 of sails and 85/90cv engines. They are registered Panamanian commercial vessels.   Automatic pilot, GPS 2, AIS, which has a security inspection annually insurance. Reserve of water of 1500 l. Fuel tanks of 500l. Solar panels. Radio with USB ports gives to this large sailboat the comfortable as a catamaran and it covers all your needs. A salon of 20 m2, completely protected of sun and rain if it’s necessary, can occupy 16  people. Large space on the boat deck for take the sun. Along the way we will try to catch big fish. We enter the islands with the sun rise in the archipelago between hollandais and cocos islands. We ll show you the best places to swim and snorkel. In the night, we organize a barbecue close to banedup with the Guna natives. Swim and relax amongst the islands. There is some good snorkeling along the coral wall. The crew will meet you at 8pm in front of club nautico Manga The last shopping in the supermarket will be at 10 pm Departure during the night. The boat arrives in Puerto Lindo, Panama. From here it is about 2.5 hours by bus to Panama City.  The crew of the boat will give you instructions on when and where to catch the bus, or they may organize a shuttle for $25 per guest if enough people are interested. . A high protection sunscreen. A tight-fitting T-shirt to snorkel. prepare a small bag with all you need during the trip. we ll put your big case in an other storage without access. A mosquito repellent  for nights without wind and evenings ashore. A sweat shirt or a light raincoat for the night. A towel. The boat supplies a mattress with sheets but no blanket. bring your snack, sweets, sodas, beers etc. If you get motion or sea sickness, we highly recommend that you buy motion sickness tablets from the pharmacy. BOAT TO PANAMA - Santana Catamaran

The Santana is the ideal trip if you are looking for a comfortable, relaxed and spacious Catamaran! ABOUT THE BOAT SANTANA is a 50 foot aluminum catamaran built in 1996 and she got completely refurbished in September 2015. The catamaran is very strong and safe and is equipped with life jackets, two emergency life rafts, satellite telephone, GPS, hand flares, parachute distress- and smoke signals and MOB system.  SANTANA offers a huge deck space and may easily take up 16 passengers plus crew. There is the decks house with 10 comfortable beds and a big dining table and social area.  And there are two cabins in both hulls where  3 ppl fit in each of it. On board are snorkeling gear, a dinghy, fishing equipment a big fridge for the guests, a fresh water shower and two bathrooms with electric toilets. CAPTAIN & CREW German owner ¨Gisi¨ holds a professional worldwide cruising license and is full-time sailor since  2006. He has sailed in the Baltic Sea, Mediterranean and Caribbean speaks german, english and spanish. Captain Greg grew up on the coast of Chile and had a Capitan as a father. He has been living/working/sailing on boats since he a young kid and has enough miles on sail boats to circle the globe a couple times. He has sailed all over Europe from Finland  to Greece and through the Caribbean ; from Florida down to Chile. Greg is also an expert free diver and a sashimi master. They are probably one of the most experienced crew in the backpacker fleet. Their names stand for continuity and reliability. They both have the same sailing license to ensure the personal safety and the safety of the boat. They have well over 35 years sailing experience, 21 years alone on Mintaka, where they  live constantly. Manfred, the captain and chef engineer, and Petra, the first mate and chef, are married for almost 40 years.   ABOUT THE BOAT 46ft. aluminum sloop that was custom built for Manfred and Petra fits up to 8 guests and is never overcrowded very well maintained, very safe, comfortable and clean fans under deck ABOUT THE CREW Professional and friendly German couple: Manfred & Petra.
